Your very own detached villa overlooking the Bay of Mazarrón, with garden, terraces and communal pool, and all just a few minutes’ walk from the beach…sound too good to be true? We beg to differ! This delightful Mojón Hills Resort property has it all, and more!

Set in one of the best spots within a small phase of detached properties, the villa has easy internal access to the gorgeous communal pool and garden area, yet because of its slightly elevated position, it enjoys open views from the rooftop solarium. Its orientation offers a perfect combination of sun-bathed garden and terraces, and a cool, shaded porch, so you can always find just the right spot to sit out and enjoy the wonderful Costa Cálida climate all year round.

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves a little. Let’s go back to the front gate and take a tour through the villa and its grounds. The property is fronted by low stone walls, with panelled fencing above providing privacy from the access drive, and two gates giving pedestrian and vehicular access. As we come in through the pedestrian gate, we step up between two raised terraces to the covered front porch. This is the perfect place to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, maybe even indulge in a little afternoon nap, out of the direct heat of the sun.

Entering through the solid wood front door, we come to a spacious lounge-diner that runs the length of the villa. Windows to the front and side, and patio doors to the rear, admit plenty of natural light, giving the room a spacious, airy feel.

A hallway to the right currently houses a bookcase, but would also be the ideal place for a wardrobe to keep outdoor wear out of sight. The hallway leads us to the master bedroom, with fitted wardrobe and en-suite bathroom.

At the other end of the lounge we have another small hall area, with access to the independent, fully-tiled kitchen, practically laid out with base and wall units and all the appliances along one wall. There are additional tall storage cupboards and a wooden chopping block which also serves as a breakfast table. An opaque-glazed door provides a side entrance to the villa, ideal for bringing the shopping in from the car!

From the hall we also access the family bathroom, with walk-in shower and an arched window for ventilation, and the second bedroom. The bedroom has a built-in wardrobe and is large enough for twin beds or a double, or even bunk beds if that suits your family’s needs better.

Back in the lounge, the patio doors open out onto a low-maintenance garden, with paved area directly alongside the house, and an artificial lawn where you can take full advantage of the south-westerly orientation… stretch out on a lounger with a good book, enjoy family barbecues or just sit out in the evening with a glass of your favourite tipple as you reflect on the day’s adventures, the choice is yours!

To the rear of the villa, external stairs lead up to the wonderful rooftop solarium, for those who like plenty of direct sun. The views from here are beautiful, overlooking the communal pool and garden to one side, and the eastern arm of the Bay of Mazarrón, over the rooftops of Isla Plana, to the other. The view changes as the day progresses, and with it the mood, as you watch the hazy sunrise over the mountains behind La Azohía gradually blend into the brightness of the midday sun glittering on the Mediterranean, through the violet hues of sunset and finally to the moon bathing the sea with its cool light.

But this villa isn’t just about idly dreaming the days away, although that is easy to do here, of course. The communal pool is just a few steps away, so whether you like to take a relaxing dip or prefer to challenge yourself to a water work-out, there’s no excuse for not getting a bit of exercise. If you have younger children, you can still enjoy the garden whilst keeping a watchful eye on them, so no one misses out.

On a practical level, the villa has all the comforts and features you could need. The windows are double glazed and fitted with fly screens and shutters, and all doors and windows have security grills. Central hot and cold air conditioning allows you to maintain a comfortable temperature at any time of year, and both bathrooms have windows to ensure plenty of air movement and ventilation. There is plenty of storage space, with a built-in store under the solarium stairs for those DIY items, and a further storeroom on the solarium.

The beaches of Isla Plana are 500 metres away, with the village centre about a 15-minute walk. Here you will find a supermarket, chemist, restaurants, cafés, shops, bank and other every-day amenities. A short drive (or slightly longer walk for those who like to keep active!) takes you to Puerto de Mazarrón, with a wider range of facilities, blue flag beaches and plenty of options for entertaining yourself and the family.
